Equal but Diverse

Because we are all created differently, I like that Bronfenbrenner mentions that it is not always good to study people on a basic research guideline. Bronfenbrenner (1979) suggests that a great deal of laboratory-based research could not be generalized to everyday contexts in which humans live and grow.
Never Give Up On Your Dreams

Clinton (1992) suggest to women, "Hold on to your dreams, whatever they are."  Women are generally the heart of the home yet, then and decades later, women are still in turmoil over the world’s views of getting married, having children, not having children, having a career, or doing it all at the same time with an even balance.
Passion Motivation & Wisdom Matter
One quote of significance to me from the professionals in the media segment from Week 2 of the course  is, “When you’re on fire about what you do, it energizes you, and you can put that energy back into your work”, (Rosengren,2010).

Ma

Mae is my mother, my nurturer, my protector, my provider, my friend, my cook, my cleaner, my teacher, my leader, my yesterday, my today, and my tomorrow.  Mae has molded me into the person that the world sees today.  Kudos to Mae and great thanks to God for picking such a great mom for me.

Martha, my Aunt, my babysitter, my playmate, my cook, my caregiver, my teacher, my homework assistant, my buddy, and my pal.  Thanks for being their when my mom was working or away trying to finish college. I’m glad you were there then and I respect the role that you play in my son’s support system.

My late grandpa Eddie, my everything, the family stronghold. You have always been missed and I respect and remember all you taught me about being a Lady. My #1 chef and monster catcher. RIP Grandpa Eddie.

Eddie, my father, thanks for giving me this nice smile that I have today, my confidence, my life, my strength, mom says I get my attitude from you.  RIP Eddie.  You and Grandpa are greatly missed.

Resa, my big sister, my friend, my playmate, my paper doll buddy, my sons, baby sitter and favorite aunt. Even though you were not sure if you wanted a baby sis at first, you always kept me safe and taught me how to listen and grow to be a big girl.  Thank you for the good times and listening during the bad times.  You’re a great BFF that likes to cook and I thank you for that.  “To infinity and beyond”!

Ms. Kilean, I used to get so upset with you when I could not have my way and you told me, “Wait until I tell your parent’s how you are acting young lady”.  Today, I thank you for being a great kindergarten teacher.  You were my first teacher and everything you have taught me since day one I have carried on to each grade and at 35, it still structures my life in many ways!  Keep up the good luck with the other children in the community and I wish there were more teachers like you in the world; at least in Dallas, so, you could teach my son.

Thanks to you all that are still with me today for continuing to be a big support in my life and my number one fans.  And to the one’s watching me from above, thanks for being great angels and keeping me safe and comforted when I am down.  You presence can still be felt.
